Use of a helicopter for sock pulling can drastically reduce construction time and requires far fewer resources. While some installations may require 8 to 10 bucket trucks at a time and 12-hour days, a helicopter can cut that time in half and reduces the need for ground support.
Contact Custom Helicopters today and let’s talk about your power and telecommunications lines needs.
Mineral exploration via helicopter is at the core of our business. In fact, it was one of the first sectors we ever operated in, and we’ve been doing so since 1977. We’ve helped many organizations explore most provinces and territories in Canada, including the high Arctic.

Custom Helicopters’ multi-engine aircrafts can provide an ideal platform for helicopter-based emergency medical services (HEMS) in remote areas of Canada. This aircraft is a twin-engine, Category A, Performance Class 1 helicopter capable of landing in unprepared sites as well as H1-restricted heliports in built-up city environments. IFR and NVG capability complete this aircraft’s extensive list of capabilities.
Primary HEMS missions
A purpose-built medical interior combines medical functionality with comfort and ease-of-use for medical staff.
Secondary HEMS missions
A modular design that can be adapted at a moment’s notice enables this helicopter to work in other market sectors (utility, oil and gas support, etc.), while maintaining the ability to perform medevac missions. A company-approved night heliport can be set up using portable lighting to enable 24-hour medevac support to your remote operation.
Contact Custom today for all your HEMS needs.

Class D allows the external carriage of a person using either the helicopter’s cargo hook system or a hoist. This can include rescue operations or the insertion of passengers into places where our helicopters cannot land. This is exceptionally useful for search and rescue operations, military support, emergency medical transportation (HEMS), and power line construction and maintenance.
Specific training, policies, and procedures are strictly adhered to for the safety of passengers and our flight crew. We are fully certified and strive to exceed safety regulations to ensure that every rescue or transport mission is executed without incident.

Our flights leave from the Churchill Airport in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada. We offer a free shuttle for transportation between the airport and the town, which is only a 10-minute drive.
Pricing & how to book
Churchill has a subarctic climate with long, cold winters and mild summers. Weather events and variability throughout the year add to the interesting aspects of visiting Churchill; however, with such variability, air travel can become challenging. Safety is our number-one priority. If the weather is marginal, we might have to cancel or postpone flights. When you book with us, however, we work with you and your schedule and try our best to reschedule your flight for another time or day when the weather improves.
Weight restrictions and group sizes
Our tour aircraft can accommodate a maximum of 5 passengers per helicopter. The maximum duration of a flight depends on passenger weight, as our flight operations use passenger load to calculate maximum fuel load. Groups of 2 or 3 passengers can fly for up to 120 minutes, groups of 4 passengers can fly for up to 90 minutes, and groups of 5 passengers can fly for up to 60 minutes. When calling to book, please let us know the size of your group and passenger weight, so we can let you know which tour durations are available to your group.
